Visits Show as iCloud Private Relay ~ Random Countries Listed

Apple enabled some of its private relay functionalities out of the box in the latest versions of Safari for iOS and MacOS, without having to subscribe to iCloud's premium version.

This feature is meant to hide/mask your device's IP address from trackers, which is what analytics systems are.

This setting will show visits as iCloud Private Relay with random countries listed unless it is turned off.

Turning the setting OFF will display the visits with the correct ISP and country.

Turn this setting off as follows.

  • From iOS (iPhone and iPad)
Settings > Safari > Hide IP Address
  • From MacOS
Open Safari > Click on Safari on the top menu bar (top left) > Preferences > Privacy > Hide IP Address
