How Search Engines Work

How they Work

Search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo periodically send out an electronic signal called a spider, Googlebot, internet bot or website crawler.

The spider's job is to surf the Internet and analyze links and other info, sending it back to the search engine database.

It looks for links, keywords worked into the text of a web page, site statistics, etc.

The search engine then compiles the information the spider retrieves and indexes it by relevance.

What You Gain from Being Submitted to the Search Engines

All FASO websites are submitted to the search engines.

Being submitted provides you with potential exposure and increase in website traffic.

Everyone with a website is going to garner different results from search engines. FASO can't guarantee specific benefits from your search engine listings. It's likely however, that your site will show up in a search, encouraging someone to visit it. And they may even buy some art!
