When a website visitor says they sent you a message via your Contact the Artist page and you did not receive it (at the Admin Email address we have on file for you), here are some suggestions.
1. Check your spam folder to be sure the email did not go to spam.
If messages are going into your spam folder, it can help to whitelist our servers' email addresses. Add the following to your address book, your contacts:
- [email protected]
- [email protected] [your contact messages come from this address]
- [email protected] [used to communicate with you]
- [email protected] [used to communicate with you]
2. Check your FASO Message Log and make sure the messages are being sent, and are sent to the correct email address.
Messages are sent to the Admin Email address we have on file on your account.
See this FAQ: How do I change the email address on my account?
Because email is not 100% reliable, the Message Log is a great tool that enables you to check to be sure you are not missing any important messages.
To check your Message Log:
- from FASO Control Panel
- click the tiny envelope top right
(says Messages when hovering) - click on message on left - it will open in pane on the right
3. Verify that your email address with FASO is a valid email address.
See this FAQ:
How and why do I confirm my email address?
4. Not Receiving Contacts due to a Spam report.
You may have inadvertently marked a message from our servers as spam. Every message sent to you from the Contact the Artist forms specifically say at the top 'Do not report this as spam' but it still happens.
If you think there is a chance this is the case, let us know. We'd need a statement from you that it was done in error and that you DO want messages from [email protected].
5. Hotmail and MSN are notoriously unreliable when it comes to deliverability issues. We cannot get an answer from them why messages from our system are sometimes not delivered. Server logs show that our messages are sent to these providers but they do not deliver them.
We recommend using free gmail account instead.
6. If all of the above checks out A-OK, please open a support ticket so we can check the email service providers to be sure no blocks have been put on your email address.
