Paypal Error ~ Seller Accepts Encrypted Website Payments Only

If your collectors are not able to check out using Paypal the issue is most likely due to the Encrypted Website Payments setting in your PayPal account.

Examples:
When clicking Add to Cart or on your Patronage Bar, if you see an error message such as:

turn off Encrypted Website Payments in your PayPal account:


To disable the Encrypted Website Payments option:

  • Sign in to your PayPal account.
  • Hover over your name, upper right.
  • Click Account Settings.
  • Click Website Payments (in left menu bar).
  • Click Update next to Website Preferences.
  • Scroll down to the Encrypted Website Payments section.
  • For Block non-encrypted website payment, select Off.

NOTE:  Encrypted Website Payments feature is ONLY required to be used for manually created buttons, created using code.

Turning this setting to Off does not affect the security of your FASO buttons or your buyers.
